Well, with the cross-state organization that conspired to push this bill thru... especially the LDS and Catholic Churches, are we surprised.
This wasn't the will of California, this was the will of the Mormons.

Yeah, I know... but it still hurts. I just don't understand why the Mormons had to get involved at all... And now Michael Crichton is dead.

Simple answer: Because the First Presidency is Evil.
Bigots usually are Evil, as are most religious groups that maintained a cadre of assassins.

As for the late Mr Crichton, his work survives him, but it is a great loss.
